The Nonprofit Faced the Following Business Challenges

Automating their CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery) workflows to ensure consistent and timely deployments.
Optimizing AWS environment to maximize cost-efficiency without sacrificing performance. Lowering costs was crucial to meet budget constraints.

Integrated AWS CodePipeline to ensure code quality, accelerate development cycles, and support an automated release pipeline for applications.

Deployed Room to Read's application on Amazon ECS (Fargate) within their production environment.

Divided their network into 2 Availability Zones for redundancy and high availability. If one Zone fails, traffic seamlessly routes to the other.

Deployed a cross-regional disaster recovery environment that contains a read replica of Amazon RDS. Backups between regions are enabled.

Deployed AWS CodeBuild to update the ECS task definitions with the new Docker images. Also, re-provisions the tasks with the latest application version.

Implemented an Autoscaling Group around the application server to facilitate dynamic scaling for increased capacity and recovery in case of failure.

Accelerated Build and Deployment Timeframes

By implementing automated CI/CD pipelines with services such as AWS CodeBuild and AWS CodePipeline, Cloudelligent optimized the customer’s deployments. This helped them to reduce time-to-market, increase productivity, and foster innovation.

Cost Optimization

Our team conducted an in-depth evaluation of their existing AWS environment and then rightsized any underutilized resources. We also eliminated any zombie assets and applied cost optimization principles to the customer’s infrastructure, resulting up to 20% reduction on their AWS bill.

Enhanced Scalability and Availability

Cloudelligent implemented Autoscaling Groups to dynamically scale up the application server during high demand or Availability Zone failures to ensure uninterrupted service. Additionally, we established a cross-regional disaster recovery setup for Amazon RDS instances, enhancing data redundancy and availability.
