SurePoint Technologies Faced the Following Business Challenges

SurePoint Technologies sought assistance in achieving their business objectives through several key initiatives, including:

 

Streamlining the support process to improve tracking and handling of user requests, reducing delays, and enhancing efficiency compared to using Microsoft Teams.

Optimizing AppStream fleet provisioning to reduce costs while simplifying the management and tracking of AWS Reserved Instances (RIs) and Savings Plans for better cost control.

Standardizing AWS CloudFormation templates to maintain a consistent infrastructure state and reducing complexity by consolidating multiple versions into a single golden template.

Enhancing log management by implementing a centralized logging mechanism. Improving the ability to track, analyze, and audit logs for more effective troubleshooting and outage management.

How Cloudelligent Successfully Solved SurePoint Technologies’ Challenges

We addressed the challenges by providing comprehensive solutions tailored to our customer’s needs.

Managed IT Support

The Cloudelligent team enhanced SurePoint’s operations through a series of targeted solutions:

  • Streamlined Support Process: We efficiently routed relevant Zendesk tickets to Cloudelligent and ensured user requests/issues are handled promptly and effectively.
  • Incident Management: A comprehensive incident management framework was established, allowing SurePoint to handle all severity levels with minimal impact on business operations.
  • Proactive Infrastructure Monitoring : We set up and fine-tuned infrastructure alerts to proactively identify potential problems before they escalate into service failures. 
  • Recurring Issue Resolution: By identifying and analyzing recurring user-reported issues, we implemented permanent fixes (such as resolving the Streaming Resource Issue) to enhance long-term system stability and user satisfaction.

AWS FinOps Management

Our FinOps experts delivered significant cost and operational improvements through the following actions:

  • Comprehensive Analysis: Our team performed a detailed review of SurePoint's entire AppStream ecosystem, identifying overprovisioned and underutilized fleets. 
  • Fleet Optimization: Each AppStream fleet was right-sized to align with actual usage patterns, ensuring resources were efficiently allocated to meet the client’s needs. 
  • AI-Driven Cost Management: Cloudelligent integrated Archera to automate the purchasing and management of Reserved Instances (RIs) and Savings Plans, maximizing cost savings while simplifying long-term resource planning.

Performance Optimization via Amazon AppStream 2.0

Cloudelligent played a pivotal role in supporting SurePoint Technologies’ large-scale rollout of the Coyote application with Amazon AppStream 2.0. By optimizing the initial design, Cloudelligent enabled significant performance improvements such as:

  • Backend Storage Optimization: Amazon FSx was utilized to enhance the AppStream backend storage, which results in faster storage access and overall system performance. We also optimized Amazon RDS configurations to further improve the efficiency and scalability of the application. 
  • Simplified Group Policy Management: Our experts streamlined Group Policy Objects (GPO), simplifying the management process for end-users. 
  • Streamlined Onboarding and Ongoing Support: Cloudelligent optimized the onboarding process for the Coyote application and continues to provide comprehensive support across all tiers, from Tier 1 to Tier 4 to ensure smooth operations at every level.

Managed Cloud Services

Cloudelligent delivered several key improvements to the customer’s infrastructure management:

  • Centralized CloudFormation Template: Cloudelligent established a standardized, golden CloudFormation template for provisioning client infrastructures. This helps reduce complexity and ensures consistency across deployments.
  • Enhanced Automation: We significantly enhanced automation to streamline the client onboarding process which helped reduce manual effort and expedite service delivery. 
  • Robust Validation Process: A comprehensive validation process was introduced to detect and resolve potential issues early. This ensures a smooth workflow and prevents bottlenecks during infrastructure provisioning. 
  • Unified Logging Mechanism: Cloudelligent successfully designed and deployed a comprehensive enterprise logging mechanism across SurePoint Technologies’ entire application suite. This solution features end-to-end integration of application logs into a centralized AWS account and leverages advanced technologies and pipelines to ensure effective log management.

Enhanced User Support Efficiency

Cloudelligent significantly improved SurePoint Technologies’ response and resolution time for user tickets. This ensured a more efficient and seamless user experience with support services. By implementing permanent fixes to recurring issues, the volume of user tickets was reduced which minimized disruptions and improved overall user satisfaction. 

Optimized Cost Management and Savings

Cloudelligent’s solutions optimized infrastructure management which helped to reduce costs associated with manual processes. By implementing streamlined operations through IaC and automated CI/CD pipelines, Cenote Solutions achieved greater efficiency in resource allocation and management.

Streamlined Cloud Operations

Cloudelligent streamlined and automated the provisioning process, enabling SurePoint Technologies to effectively tackle onboarding challenges. This eliminated common issues such as license and login errors, and significantly boosted the organization’s ability to manage multiple provisionings concurrently and without delays. 

Improved Observability and Troubleshooting

By incorporating advanced observability solutions, our customer is able to track critical logs for troubleshooting application issues, managing outages, and maintaining user session records. This greatly supports the development team in improving operational processes and enhancing overall system reliability. 

Enhanced Application Performance and Scalability

Cloudelligent improved Coyote’s login performance from two minutes to under 30 seconds and streamlined SurePoint Technologies’ onboarding in three phases. We also implemented a new scaling policy that resulted in cost savings, smoother deployment, enhanced user experience and operational efficiency.
